President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Remo Stars Football Club for their triumphant victory in the 2024–2025 Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

In a statement released on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President hailed the achievement as a significant milestone that places Ikenne and Ogun State prominently on the national sports map.

President Tinubu commended the players, coaching staff, and management of Remo Stars for their “hard work, discipline, and unyielding spirit.”

He highlighted the team’s resilience and perseverance, particularly in overcoming previous setbacks in their pursuit of the league title.

“Their courage in pursuing success despite three previous near-misses in the race for the league title is admirable.

He also acknowledged the pivotal role of the club’s owner and chairman, Mr. Kunle Soname, in fostering grassroots football development.

President Tinubu praised Soname’s commitment and investment, including the construction of a state-of-the-art stadium in Ikenne, which has provided a crucial platform for sports growth in Nigeria.

With their NPFL victory, Remo Stars will now represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League. President Tinubu urged the team to maintain their “undaunting spirit and focus” as they compete for continental honors.

He also called upon football enthusiasts across the nation to rally behind the team in their African campaign.
