The defendants Ayeni Oluwasola, 41, Tope Agbaje, 48, and Godwin Pius Anawo, 58  were brought before the court on allegations of conspiracy to commit robbery, armed robbery and receiving stolen property.

The alleged offences were said to have occurred on or before 13 August 2025 at about 7:00 a.m. within the Ado-Ekiti Magisterial District.

Prosecutor Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi told the court that there was probable cause to remand the suspects.

He explained that the matter fell under Sections 314, 321(2)(a) and (b), and 343 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021, which prescribe penalties for such serious crimes.

He added that the case file had already been forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.

The defendants, represented by Barrister Richard Adeola, did not have their pleas taken, as the charges are outside the jurisdiction of the magistrate court for trial.

Chief Magistrate Adeosun granted the application for remand and directed that the defendants be kept at the Ado-Ekiti Correctional Centre.
