Spelling Bee Nigeria Season 3 has opened registration for students aged 8 to 13 across Nigeria, offering young learners a chance to compete for national recognition and potential international exposure in the United States.

The new season of the academic competition is supported by the U.S. Mission Nigeria, Rotary Club of Victoria Island East and other institutional partners, with organisers positioning the programme as a platform for literacy, confidence and academic excellence.

Registration is currently open at a fee of ₦10,000 for pupils in primary and early secondary education, with students from schools across the country expected to participate.

The competition is powered by Young Educators Africa, which has continued to expand the initiative as an educational platform combining spelling challenges with opportunities for personal development and global exposure.

The campaign for the new season features Newton Temojo, winner of the 2026 Spelling Bee in Nigeria championship.

His appearance highlights the pathway the organisers hope to create from national competition to international opportunities.

Beyond testing spelling ability, the organisers say the programme is designed to strengthen communication skills, self-confidence and a lasting interest in learning.

The competition will culminate in a national championship, while outstanding performers will have opportunities to represent Nigeria internationally.

The international pathway is a key attraction for students and families looking beyond conventional academic competitions.

Previous editions have attracted participation from schools in several states, while partnerships with educational organisations, corporate sponsors and community groups have helped broaden the competition’s reach.

Checkers Custard, Lucid Education Initiative and Kids FM are among the organisations supporting the latest season, reflecting wider interest in programmes focused on youth education and talent development.

Registration information released by the organisers states that payments are to be made through a designated Ecobank account, with payment confirmations processed via WhatsApp.

As Spelling Bee Nigeria Season 3 gets underway, organisers are looking to attract a fresh cohort of young contestants ready to test their vocabulary, compete with peers and pursue opportunities beyond Nigeria.
