The Super Eagles have returned to their Africa Cup of Nations base in Fez to begin preparations for their semi-final clash against Morocco, following a 2-0 quarter-final victory over Algeria in Marrakesh.

In a statement on Sunday, team media officer Promise Efoghe said the squad held a recovery session at the Saardienne football complex in Fez as they began tactical preparations for the upcoming match.

A video accompanying the statement showed players alighting from their aircraft on arrival.

There are no fresh injury concerns in the squad, although Wilfred Ndidi will miss the semi-final after accumulating two yellow cards in the round of 16 and quarter-final matches.

Nigeria’s return to Fez aligns with a new CAF policy for this edition of AFCON, under which teams are assigned a designated camp for the duration of the tournament.

Under this arrangement, squads return to their base after each match before travelling to the venue of their next fixture.

The Super Eagles booked their place in the last four with a 2-0 win over Algeria at the Marrakech Stadium on Saturday, with goals from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams.

Morocco secured a 2-0 win over Cameroon in the other quarter-final, setting up the semi-final showdown at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on Wednesday at 9 pm.

Should Nigeria lose the semi-final, they will travel to Casablanca for the third-place play-off on Saturday.

Victory over the hosts, however, would see the Super Eagles remain in Rabat for the final on Sunday as they pursue continental glory at the 2025 AFCON.
