Terry G cultural impact was once again thrown into the spotlight on Wednesday as veteran street-hop singer Gabriel Oche Amanyi, widely known as Terry G, declared that his legacy remains one of the most significant in the Nigerian music industry.

The singer, who rose to national prominence in the 2010s with a distinct sound rooted in street culture, took to his official X account to assert his role in redefining the music landscape.
Terry G claimed that no discussion on Nigeria’s cultural influence in music would be complete without acknowledging his contributions.
He wrote, “You can’t talk about cultural impact in Nigeria without talking about Terry G. I am the culture!”

The declaration comes amid ongoing debates over legacy and influence within Nigeria’s music space, reignited by the lyrical rivalry between rappers Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez.
As fans reflect on past musical eras, many have revisited the disruptive energy Terry G brought to the scene with hits like Free Madness and Akpako Master.
Known for fusing eccentric performance styles with local rhythms and street language, Terry G is often credited with popularising the street-hop genre and inspiring a new generation of bold, unconventional acts.

The Board of Directors of Silverbird Group has appointed Mr. Roy Murray-Bruce as the new Chairman of Silverbird Group, succeeding Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, who previously served as Chairman of the organisation.

Mr. Roy Murray-Bruce is an experienced board director, governance leader, and strategic business executive with over four decades of leadership experience spanning media, entertainment, real estate, hospitality, retail, infrastructure, and FMCG sectors across Africa and the United Kingdom.
As former President of Silverbird Group from 1995 to 2015, Mr. Roy Murray-Bruce led the expansion of the organisation into one of West Africa’s most recognised media and entertainment brands, overseeing growth across radio, television, cinemas, retail, and property development.
During his tenure, he negotiated major international partnerships with organisations including Viacom, MTV Base Africa, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the English Premier League.
He also played a major role in pioneering Cineplex culture in Nigeria and West Africa, while leading the development of Silverbird Galleria projects and cinema expansions across Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Uyo, Ghana, and Kenya.
Mr. Roy Murray-Bruce currently serves on the boards of several companies including Silverbird Group, Silverbird Entertainment Ghana, Silverbird West Africa, Domino Group of Companies, and SAMUELSON Consulting Group, where he provides strategic guidance and governance oversight.
