In a recent video shared on TikTok, self-styled activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), revealed he had encouraged Naira Marley to file a cyberbullying and defamation case against Iyabo Ojo.

The case was tied to her outspoken criticism following the death of the singer’s former signee, Mohbad.

According to VDM, their plan was to confront Ojo at the Lagos State Commissioner of Police’s office, where Naira Marley would accuse her of damaging his image and career.

But when the moment came, things didn’t go as planned.

“Naira Marley said Allah will judge. But when Iyabo Ojo apologized in Yoruba, he forgave her immediately. I almost died where I was sitting. I was so upset,” VDM said.

He added that even Sam Larry, who was also present, became emotional and protested the forgiveness, fearing Iyabo might not hold up her side of the agreement.

VeryDarkMan advises Naira Marley, but the artist ultimately chooses peace over legal retribution a move that VDM views as a missed opportunity for accountability.

Recall that both Naira Marley and Sam Larry were acquitted of any involvement in Mohbad’s death four months ago, further intensifying public debate over justice and defamation within Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
