Wanted ex-FCC Staff Haruna Kolo Begs For Forgiveness, Sends Emissary To Dankaka

Published

on

Haruna Kolo, the ex-Chief of Protocol and ex-IPPIS Desk Officer at the Federal Character Commission (FCC) who has been declared wanted on the order of the House of Representatives Committee probing alleged job racketeering in the Commission and some other government agencies, is on the street begging for forgiveness.
Kolo had attended the sitting of the Committee once making unsubstantiated allegations against the Chairman of the Commission, Dr Muheeba Dankaka.
Subsequent sittings of the committee and further revelations by victims of the job scam perpetrated by Kolo exonerated Dr Dankaka and since then Kolo has been on the run, despite several invitations by the Committee to appear before it and substantiate his allegations.
The only time he appeared, Kolo admitted on camera that indeed he collected money from applicants to give them jobs but made allegations which were not substantiated against the FCC Chairman.
Some applicants whom he collected money from also appeared before the Committee and confirmed that they paid money to Kolo but exonerated Dr Dankaka, noting that her name was never mentioned in their dealings with him.
Subsequently, after shunning several invitations by the Committee to appear, the Chairman of the Committee, Hon Yusuf Gagdi issued a bench warrant for his arrest. Since then, he has been on the run.
However, investigations by this medium have revealed that Kolo is criss-crossing some states seeking the attention of some important personalities to help him beg Dr Dankaka over his unsubstantiated allegations against her at the Committee sitting.
“He has been running from pillar to post begging for forgiveness from Dr Dankaka,” a very close source told our correspondent.
According to the source, some of the personalities Kolo had visited to plead on his behalf were His Royal Highness, the Etsu Nupe and other important people.
“He had even gone to the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) seeking the faces of Dankaka’s former lecturers who he knew can speak to her. These lecturers are close to her when she was in school and are still in contact with her. Very senior academics who she respects a lot,” our source added.
Our source was however surprise that despite being declared wanted by the police, he still walking the streets free.
“He should be arrested to answer to his sins. He wanted to damage the image of the woman. Only God exonerated her. This same man is here begging! Begging for what? He should arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law,” our source said.
Further investigations by this medium have revealed that indeed, Kolo has been confessing to people that he was used by some Commissioners in the Commission to discredit Dankaka.
“He confessed to the people he was seeking their help to beg Dankaka that he was used by some Commissioners in the Commission to make the unsubstantiated claims against her. The Commissioners have now abandoned him. He’s on his own, but he must answer to his sins,” another of our sources in the Commission said.
Indeed, investigations by this medium revealed that, a day before he made his inglorious appearance at the Committee sitting, Kolo was seen in the company of three FCC Commissioners, confirming his confession that he was used by some Commissioners in the Commission.
Our correspondent learnt that Kolo has been advised to return all the money he collected from applicants to them as a first step to seeking forgiveness.
“He should return all the ill-gotten money to the people he collected them from. This is the first step towards forgiveness for him. He should then apologised publicly to Dankaka in particular and Nigerians in general,” sources told our correspondent.
As at the time of going to press, this medium has not been able to reach Dr Dankaka to confirm whether or not she had received emissaries from Haruna Kolo.
Her aides said she was at a meeting when we called the office and they were not willing to release her phone numbers without her permission.

IAEA Refers Iran to UN Security Council Over Nuclear Breach

Published

on

The International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors has voted to refer Iran to the United Nations Security Council over its failure to comply with nuclear safeguards obligations, marking the first such referral in two decades.

The resolution was approved on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, with 23 of the IAEA’s 35 board members voting in favour. China, Russia and Niger opposed the measure, while eight countries abstained and one did not vote.

The move follows prolonged concerns over Iran’s nuclear activities and its failure to provide the IAEA with sufficient access and information needed to verify its nuclear materials and facilities.

The agency has particularly raised concerns over uranium traces discovered at previously undeclared sites and the lack of access to some nuclear facilities following attacks on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

The referral represents a significant escalation in international pressure on Tehran. The last time the IAEA Board took a similar step involving Iran was two decades ago, leading to years of United Nations Security Council action over the country’s nuclear programme.

Iran has rejected the resolution, describing it as politically motivated and arguing that circumstances surrounding recent military attacks on its nuclear facilities have made inspections difficult. Tehran maintains that its nuclear programme is peaceful.

The IAEA has estimated that Iran had about 440.9 kilogrammes of uranium enriched to 60 per cent before the recent attacks. While that material is below the roughly 90 per cent enrichment level generally associated with weapons-grade uranium, the quantity has intensified international concerns over the potential proliferation risks.

The referral now places Iran’s nuclear dispute back before the UN Security Council, although any further action could face resistance from Russia and China, which have opposed the latest IAEA measure.

Barcelona captain Raphinha was the star of the night, scoring twice as Hansi Flick’s side produced an impressive attacking display.

The Brazilian opened the scoring in the third minute after cutting inside before finishing with his left foot. Karim Adeyemi then doubled Barcelona’s advantage in the 22nd minute with a curling effort.

Raphinha struck again in the 57th minute, converting a defence-splitting pass from Pedri to put Barcelona firmly in control.

Lamine Yamal added a fourth in the 77th minute with a direct free-kick, further underlining Barcelona’s dominance.

Feyenoord pulled one back through Sem Steijn in the 82nd minute, but the visitors’ brief hope of a comeback was quickly extinguished.

New signing Gabriel Jesus completed the rout three minutes later, scoring with a backward header shortly after coming off the bench. It was his first goal for Barcelona.

The victory continues Barcelona’s outstanding beginning to the campaign. The Catalan giants have won all four of their La Liga matches and now have a victory from their opening Champions League fixture.

Raphinha’s brace also underlined his importance to Flick’s attack, with the Brazilian operating centrally and proving a constant threat to the Feyenoord defence.

Barcelona will now turn their attention back to domestic action before returning to Champions League duty, with their emphatic opening victory giving them an early boost in their European campaign.
