The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing Gomani–Yangoji road project in Abuja, describing it as part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s drive to extend infrastructure to satellite communities.

Wike reviews FCT Gomani–Yangoji road project progress, whereby inspection took place on Thursday, where the minister said the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at improving connectivity and reducing rural-urban migration.

He explained that the administration deliberately prioritises the development of satellite towns to ensure balanced infrastructure distribution across the FCT.

According to him, the 13-kilometre road project is being executed by Zeberced Construction Company, the same contractor responsible for the A2-Pai road.

Wike noted that significant progress had been made on the project, including completion of the bridge and near-final drainage works.

“From what we’ve seen, you can attest to the fact that we are very much encouraged,” he said, adding that streetlight installation is currently ongoing.

The minister revealed that the project is expected to be among those slated for inauguration during activities marking President Tinubu’s third anniversary in office in June.

He commended the contractor for maintaining quality standards and adhering to delivery timelines.

Wike also expressed optimism that the President would be pleased with the level of infrastructure development reaching underserved communities within the territory.
