Billionaire businessman and Executive Chairman, Geregu Power Plant, Femi Otedola, comes across as a phenomenon of sorts.
Indeed, it is no exaggeration to say that his life epitomises a tenacity of purpose.

His ability as a strategist and winner has never been in doubts.
Indeed,  every move he makes, either in his business or private life, has never escaped the attention of newshounds.

He is a delight to professional journalists and biographers. If you choose to write about his uncommon feats as a businessman, you will come up with volumes of work that will most likely intimidate a bibliophile.

In the same way, if you choose to document his philanthropic acts, in black and white, your hand may grow tired.

Whenever the businessman dabbles into any business, it usually becomes a major story not only in the media, online and traditional media but among other business owners, the elite as well as those on the streets.

The Lagos born business mogul once again showcased his milk of kindness as he promised Nigeria’s football team, the Super Eagles at the on going African Cup of Nations, AFCON, the sum of $250, 000 if they win the trophy.  The message was delivered today by government delegation to Cameroon led by the  Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.

You will recall that the man with heart of gold gave out the sum of $50,000 to the Super Eagles at the 2019 edition of AFCON. The team lost at the Semi Finals to Algeria though.
This latest effort by Otedola has further foregrounded his abiding fellow-feeling and love for humanity.

In the past years, Otedola had put smiles on the faces of a number of eminent Nigerians , including the late musician Majek Fashek; Christian Chukwu, a former captain and coach of the Super Eagles; Peter Fregene, a former Green Eagles goalkeeper; Victor Olaotan, an actor; Inih Ebong, a former Associate Professor, Department of Theatre Arts, University of Uyo as well as Sadiq Daba, a broadcaster and actor, who had all been laid up with varied medical challenges. The list of beneficiaries of his large-heartedness is inexhaustible.
Without a doubt, if the history of biggest philanthropists in Africa were to be documented, the billionaire’s name would definitely gain prominence.  Giving ,without looking back, is a hobby to him.
