Amotekun Commander, Akogun Adeleye, disclosed on Sunday in Akure that the suspects were involved in crimes including kidnapping, burglary, theft, illegal mining, and anti-grazing offences.

“The 61 arrested found inside the trailer truck are suspected men that we are still profiling to determine what exactly will happen after profiling them,” Adeleye said.

“We have 19 that breached the law and order of the state, three on anti-grazing farmers-herders related issues, and 12 that are kidnapping-related.”

The commander highlighted that several of the kidnapping suspects were apprehended in Ilu-Abo, Idogun-Ugbe, Alagbaka, Ayede, Iloro Camp, and Ogbese in Akure North Local Government Area, with expectations that the arrests will restore peace in the region.

“Ondo State is not a safe haven for criminals. We will continue to collaborate with sister agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property,” he said.
