Rhea Ripley wins Women’s Elimination Chamber in Chicago, earning a WWE Women’s Championship match against Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42

A WrestleMania 42 championship opportunity was on the line at Chicago’s United Center, where six of WWE’s top female Superstars clashed in the 2026 Women’s Elimination Chamber match.

The bout featured Rhea Ripley, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Kiana James, Raquel Rodriguez, and Tiffany Stratton, with the winner earning a shot at the WWE Women’s Championship against reigning champion Jade Cargill.

Kiana James and Tiffany Stratton opened the contest, setting a frantic pace.

Asuka and Bliss followed, unleashing high-risk maneuvers, including Asuka’s signature strikes and Bliss’ Twisted Bliss from atop a pod, temporarily clearing the ring.

Ripley’s late entrance, however, shifted momentum, as “The Eradicator” asserted dominance with clotheslines and raw power.

The first elimination occurred when James capitalised on Asuka’s green mist attack on Bliss.

Rodriguez then entered and displayed overwhelming strength, slamming Ripley and eliminating Asuka and James in a rare double Tejana Bomb finish.

The final three saw Ripley, Rodriguez, and Stratton battle in a high-octane showdown. Stratton eliminated Rodriguez after a PME, leaving her and Ripley in the decisive clash.

Ripley ultimately countered Stratton from the top rope, delivering a Riptide to claim victory.

Ripley’s triumph ensures she will challenge Cargill at WrestleMania 42, a matchup now shaped by unforeseen changes in WWE’s plans.

The absence of major stars like Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair the latter recovering from surgery altered anticipated storylines, leaving Ripley vs. Cargill as one of the night’s most compelling contests.

The matchup pits Ripley’s momentum and popularity against Cargill’s dominant but relatively untested championship reign.
