Security sources said the suspect was intercepted at a motor park in Kano while taking delivery of the concealed ammunition, reportedly destined for bandits in Katsina State.

Nafisa, who hails from Zango village in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, was reportedly apprehended following intelligence-led surveillance.

She was said to have hidden the ammunition and cash inside food sacks in an attempt to evade detection.

According to DSS sources, the suspect was caught while receiving the consignment at Unguwa Uku motor park.

During interrogation, Nafisa allegedly confessed to being part of a supply chain linked to armed groups operating in Kankara forest.

She claimed she received the ammunition through a contact she identified as a military officer based in Lafia, Nasarawa State, although she said she had never met him in person.

She also mentioned another contact, identified as Mallam Haruna, who allegedly collected the supplies for onward delivery to bandits.

“Haruna… has always been part of the supply business,” she was quoted as saying.

Nafisa further alleged that she had conducted transactions worth about ₦5 million over a two-month period.

She also named other individuals allegedly involved in the network, including “Buba” and “Abu,” said to be operating within forest areas.

The suspect reportedly expressed regret over her involvement in the illicit activity.
