Adeboye rejects Oluremi Tinubu removal, stating the First Lady remains a duly ordained RCCG pastor despite external pressure

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has firmly rejected calls to remove Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, from her position as an ordained pastor in the church.

Speaking during the church’s monthly Holy Ghost Service, Enoch Adejare Adeboye said Oluremi Tinubu was ordained as an Assistant Pastor more than a decade ago, well before her husband, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pursued the presidency.

The Adeboye rejects Oluremi Tinubu removal stance was made clear as the cleric emphasised that the First Lady underwent the full ordination process in line with church doctrine and has not breached any of its guidelines.

Enoch Adejare Adeboye stated that the church would not yield to external pressure or public criticism regarding her status, describing the calls for removal as unfounded.

He added that decisions within the church are guided strictly by its internal rules and spiritual considerations, rather than political developments or public opinion.

The issue has drawn attention in recent weeks amid debates over the intersection of religion and public office, particularly involving high-profile figures.

Observers say the firm position taken by Enoch Adejare Adeboye underscores the church’s insistence on institutional independence in matters of doctrine and leadership.

The Adeboye rejects Oluremi Tinubu removal declaration is expected to settle ongoing speculation about her role within the church, reaffirming her standing as an ordained minister.
