Bode George PDP betrayal challenged by Aeroland with ₦5m prize for proof he ever won his polling unit for the PDP since 1999
Bode George PDP betrayal allegations have taken centre stage once again as Chief Segun Adewale, also known as Aeroland, issued a public challenge with a ₦5 million prize.
The former Lagos PDP Chairman has called on anyone with evidence that Bode George has ever delivered his polling unit or ward in Lagos to the Peoples Democratic Party since 1999 to come forward and claim the prize.
Adewale made this offer while reacting to recent comments by Bode George, who had blamed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and others for allegedly wrecking the PDP.
In a televised interview, George accused Atiku and former Senate President David Mark of weakening the party by supporting a new opposition coalition seeking to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Dismissing the claims, Adewale insisted that George himself is responsible for much of the party’s downfall in Lagos. He alleged that Bode George has a pattern of undermining PDP efforts during key elections and has frequently backed rival parties.
“I read with dismay the statement credited to Bode George accusing Atiku of joining a coalition after destroying the PDP,” Adewale said. “What’s more disgraceful than a serial Lagos PDP betrayer blaming someone else for the party’s collapse?”
Adewale accused Bode George of instructing PDP supporters to vote for candidates from the Action Democratic Party (ADP) and Labour Party during various elections, despite holding prominent positions in the PDP.
He stated that George has not contributed electoral success to the party in Lagos since 1999. “In spite of all he gained from the party, Bode George has never produced even a councillor in his ward,” he added.
The Bode George PDP betrayal narrative grew more intense as Adewale challenged the public with a bold financial incentive. “I challenge anyone with evidence of Bode George winning his polling unit or electing a councillor since 1999—I’ll pay them ₦5 million,” he declared.
Adewale recalled a 2017 appearance by George on Channels TV, where he allegedly urged PDP supporters to vote for the ADP in the local government elections.
He also referenced a press conference held in 2019, where George reportedly directed members of the PDP to support Babatunde Gbadamosi, the ADP governorship candidate.
In the 2023 general elections, according to Adewale, George again encouraged PDP loyalists to back the Labour Party. These actions, he argued, contributed significantly to the party’s stagnation in Lagos.
The defence of Atiku Abubakar formed another core of Adewale’s statement. He maintained that the former Vice President has always supported and invested in the PDP.
“Atiku has not broken any party rule or guideline,” Adewale explained. “Atiku has always supported PDP, unlike Bode George, who often backs the ruling party while pretending to support PDP in Lagos.”
Adewale described Bode George’s recent criticisms as hypocritical and damaging. He stressed the need for honesty and loyalty within party leadership to revive the PDP’s fortunes, especially in a complex political environment like Lagos.
Bode George PDP betrayal has become a rallying point for renewed scrutiny of internal party loyalty. As Nigeria inches toward the 2027 elections, voices within the PDP are becoming increasingly vocal about accountability and leadership failures.
Though Bode George is yet to respond directly to Adewale’s ₦5 million challenge, political observers expect the development to fuel further debate within the PDP. The outcome may reshape internal alliances ahead of the next general elections.
As Senator Ned Nwoko positions for a return to the National Assembly, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Emmanuel Eboh, has described any opposing ambition as self- serving, unnecessary and detrimental to the peace and development of Delta North Senatorial District.
Speaking in an interview in Abuja, Chief Eboh, a former civil commissioner in Delta State, said Senator Nwoko continues to enjoy widespread goodwill and the support of the people of Delta North, popularly known as Anioma.
While acknowledging that political aspirations are legitimate in a democratic setting, Eboh cautioned against what he termed the “unacceptable drift towards turning politics into a family enterprise and a tool for power control and manipulation.”
He called on residents of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency and the wider Delta North district to resist “the inordinate ambition of some Shylock politicians driven by selfish motives and unrestrained personal interests.”
The APC stalwart warned that personality-driven ambitions, rather than people-oriented leadership, could
lead to avoidable rivalry and division within Delta North.
Chief Eboh maintained that Senator Nwoko’s performance in office has been commendable and deserving of re-election, citing key interventions in rural road construction, electrification, education, potable water supply, and empowerment programmes.
He further highlighted the senator’s sustained advocacy for the recognition and identity of Anioma, noting that it was “unprecedented in the political history of the district”.
According to him, “Senator Nwoko has not only met expectations but surpassed them. He deserves re-election, particularly given the fact that the core constitutional responsibility of a senator is lawmaking for the good governance of the nation.”
Eboh said the people of Delta North regard Nwoko as a progressive leader who embodies unity and dignity across Anioma, stressing that he should not be distracted by unnecessary political contestation.
He reaffirmed that the senator’s commitment to the growth and development of Anioma remains unwavering and urged constituents to sustain their support for his return to the Senate.
The APC chieftain also called for continued backing of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
