The suspects, identified as Amaechi Edemba, 46, and Kelechi Nwokoro, 48, were former domestic staff of the victim and were found with jewellery, laptops, wrappers, and a silver Toyota Camry following their arrest.

Police Public Relations Officer Josephine Adeh stated that the suspects, along with four accomplices still at large, attacked the residence in January 2026.

Nwokoro, previously employed as a security guard, was dismissed the same month for negligence, and reportedly sought revenge by orchestrating the robbery.

“Leveraging his prior knowledge of the premises, Kelechi disabled the CCTV surveillance system and cut off the electricity supply before leading the armed gang into the residence,” Adeh said.

The security guard on duty, Ishaku Marcus, was overpowered and strangled to death, while cash and valuables were stolen.

The police recovered the stolen vehicle and other items from the suspects and continue efforts to apprehend the remaining gang members.

Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, urged residents to verify domestic staff with police authorities and remain vigilant.
