Former Super Eagles and Wimbledon star, John Fahanu, has been left impressed by Paul Onuachu’s scoring form.
Despite his impressive performance and goal scoring form for Genk, Onuachu was initially placed on standby after Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr released his list for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Cup qualifiers against Benin Republic and Lesotho.
But following the unavailability of some invited players, the 26-year-old forward was drafted into the team and he scored a late winner against the Squirrels in Port Novo and grabbed the third against the Crocodiles in Lagos, coming on as substitutes on both occasions.
“I am happy that Onuachu was able to score on both occasions he was introduced into both games; it was wonderful because the end justifies the means. I remember when I said he was a great player and that he was the player that we needed and now I was right. I think everybody else have seen how football has to be understood at the right level,” Fashanu told newsmen
