A Muslim Cleric, Imam Yahya Alyolawi, has urged Muslims to endeavor to supplicate to Allah at all times as a supplication (Dua) is the most powerful weapon in the hands of believers.
Alyolawi, who is the Imam of Area 10 Jumaat Mosque, Garki. Abuja made the call in his sermon at the mosque on Friday.
He explained that, though supplication is powerful and important, certain factors were necessary for it to be accepted by Allah.
“There are certain times and venues where supplication can be more effective.
“Scholars have explained that supplication is of two types, that of need (Du’a Masalah) and that of worship (Du’a Ibadah).
“The first category is a plain request for specific needs, while the second covers every act of worship said in words or inaction,’’ he said.
He listed appropriate times and places for effective supplication to include Laylat al Quadar, Arafat day, the last third of the night, and at the end of each of the five daily prayers among others.
