IPOB members staged protests in London demanding the release of Nnamdi Kanu amid President Tinubu’s UK visit

Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, staged a protest in the United Kingdom on Wednesday, calling for the immediate release of their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, coinciding with President Bola Tinubu’s state visit.

The demonstrators gathered at prominent London locations, including Parliament Square, 10 Downing Street, the Commonwealth Office, and the Nigerian High Commission.

In footage circulating online, a protester declared, “Our message is very clear: Tinubu does not deserve a royal salute. That is our stand today, being the 18th of March.”

Protesters carried placards bearing the message ‘Free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’, wore red caps, and waved Biafra flags—a horizontal tricolour of red, black, and green, featuring a golden rising sun at the centre of the black stripe.
