Ogun State political persecution allegations have intensified after former Governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel accused the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun of orchestrating a targeted campaign against him.

According to Daniel, on August 8, 2025, government agents served simultaneous “Notices of Contravention,” “Quit Notices,” and demolition threats on his Asoludero Court Sagamu residence.

Conference Hotels Limited, and its annex all properties built years before the Ogun State Urban and Regional Planning and Development Law No. 61 of 2022 came into effect.

Daniel condemned the action as politically motivated, citing a disregard for due process and legal procedure.

He likened it to the 2023 midnight demolition of DATKEM Plaza, owned by his wife, which remains the subject of ongoing court battles the state has repeatedly lost.

Calling the move a “blatant abuse of power,” Daniel urged citizens, human rights groups, and legal bodies to resist what he described as an escalating pattern of political intimidation in Ogun State.
