Senator Tinubu spoke while receiving formal notification of her selection as Person of the Year by Leadership Newspapers.

She described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a hardworking leader whose dedication motivates her to do more.

“I like to work hard because my husband is a hard-working man,” Senator Tinubu said.

She said the recognition had strengthened her resolve to serve Nigerians with renewed energy.

In a statement by her Senior Special Assistant on Media, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady said the honour had fired her up for the year.

She said her service remains guided by faith and commitment to the common good.

Senator Tinubu thanked Leadership Newspapers for the honour. She described it as a call to greater responsibility.

She said the recognition affirmed the value of women’s contributions to national development.

The First Lady noted that society often labels the world as male-dominated. She said this reality pushes women to work harder.

She urged young women to remain confident, focused and diligent.

Senator Tinubu also paid tribute to the late founder of Leadership Group, Sam Nda-Isaiah. She described him as a man of integrity.

She praised the newspaper’s management for sustaining his legacy.

The Chairman of Leadership Newspapers, Zainab Nda-Isaiah, said the decision was unanimous.

She cited the nationwide impact of the Renewed Hope Initiative since 2023.

The Senior Vice Chairman of the group, Azu Ishiekwene, said the First Lady had redefined the office through compassionate leadership.

The award ceremony will hold on February 12. It marks the 18th edition of the honour.
