According to reports, Igwe allegedly slapped a member of the Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria (CDGN) during a recent production, prompting swift disciplinary measures by the AGN.

In a formal statement addressed to its state chapter chairmen and the national executive body, the Guild cited “violence and indiscipline actions capable of discrediting the acting profession” as grounds for the suspension.

“She is hereby placed on indefinite suspension pending further investigation,”the statement read.

Members are hereby directed to refrain from participating in any film production involving her.

Furthermore, the AGN has instructed its members to avoid participating in any film projects involving Shirley Igwe until the matter is resolved.
