Akpabio Commends Tinubu for Establishing Three South East Federal Institutions

South East Development has received a significant boost following the recent actions of President Bola Tinubu.

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has expressed strong commendation for President Tinubu, who signed into law three bills for the establishment of three federal tertiary institutions within the South East region.

This move signifies a notable commitment to educational advancement and regional equity.

The newly established institutions include the College of Education, Bende, Abia; the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Item, Bende, Abia; and the Federal University, Okigwe, Imo.

These institutions will undoubtedly expand access to higher education and specialized training in the zone.

Akpabio conveyed his praise in a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Eseme Eyiboh.

The President of the Senate also extended his appreciation to all stakeholders in both the House of Representatives and the Senate for their steadfastness and support for the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of the Tinubu administration.

He particularly extolled the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Benjamin Kalu, for sponsoring two of the bills.

Akpabio also commended other co sponsors, including the Deputy Whip, Sen. Onyekachi Nwebonyi, Deputy Minority Whip, Sen. Osita Ngwu, and Sen. Patrick Ndubueze, for their collective effort in bringing these crucial bills to fruition.

Akpabio stated that the three institutions aim to provide quality education, research opportunities, and cater for the educational needs of the South East geo political zone.

They will also enhance healthcare delivery and advance knowledge within the region. He believes that the establishment of these institutions marks a significant milestone in promoting development across the zone.

The Senate President lauded President Tinubu for his inclusive leadership and commitment to the development of the South East zone.

He specifically highlighted efforts to heal deep seated wounds of the past. “The establishment of these institutions will go a long way to remove the nagging feelings of distrust and socio economic marginalisation among the people of the zone,” Akpabio affirmed.

He called upon the people of the South East to continue embracing the renewed hope agenda of the present administration.

He also urged them to position themselves for strategic and progressive alliance with President Tinubu.

Akpabio further noted that the continued support of the South East for the Tinubu administration would attract even more dividends of democracy to the zone.
