The session convened prominent development partners and financial institutions for a focused dialogue on driving sustainable development through structured finance and strategic partnerships.

Ambassador Maureen Tamuno, the Group Managing Director/CEO of AICL, delivered a welcoming address, expressing her gratitude to the Honourable Minister for FCT, Barrister Nyesom Wike, for his steadfast support in realizing the vision of the FCT as a premier investment destination.

She emphasized the crucial role of collaborative partnerships in positioning Abuja as Nigeria’s leading investment gateway.

“This roundtable is in response to the overwhelming feedback and demand of our previous sessions,” Ambassador Tamuno stated.

“Today’s meeting bridges a gap between our development partners and financial institutions—key players in unlocking the FCT’s economic potential.”

Reaffirming AICL’s commitment as a business enabler and a responsive organization, Ambassador Tamuno highlighted the necessity of trust and collaboration.

“A tree cannot build a forest,” she noted, underscoring the need to dismantle barriers and work together to achieve their shared mission.

Looking ahead, Ambassador Tamuno announced two significant initiatives by AICL aimed at attracting global investment to Nigeria:

This roundtable is in response to the overwhelming feedback and demand of our previous sessions. Today’s meeting bridges a gap between our development partners and financial institutions—key players in unlocking the FCT’s economic potential,” said Ambassador Maureen Tamuno, Group Managing Director/CEO of AICL.

Mr. Sani Yakubu, Executive Director of the MOFI Real Estate Investment Fund, provided valuable insights into Abuja’s thriving real estate sector.

He described the city as a rapidly expanding and highly profitable construction hub in Africa. “The return on investment in Abuja’s real estate sector has consistently ranged between 30% and 40% in recent years,” Mr. Yakubu pointed out.

“Few locations in Africa—such as Santon in South Africa and Cairo in Egypt—compare to Abuja in terms of value per square kilometre.”

Mr. Yakubu also stressed the significance of strong financing mechanisms and commended AICL for its strategic advantage in facilitating collaborations across various industries.
