Njemanze reportedly died over the weekend after battling prostate cancer.

Prior to his death, he had appeared in a viral video appealing for public support to fund his medical treatment.

Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), CharlyBoy called the actor’s death “regrettable,” stating it came just as efforts were intensifying to secure funds for his surgery.

“His death is so unfortunate. We had begun raising awareness and getting people to donate directly to the family. Sadly, he passed away just as help was on the way,” CharlyBoy said.

The Areafada had earlier appealed to Nigerians for donations to support Njemanze. According to him, the situation underscores the urgency of timely medical support.

In response, CharlyBoy is doubling down on his nationwide prostate cancer awareness campaign through the CharlyBoy Foundation.

Too many men are dying in silence. They don’t talk about their pain until it’s too late.

As a prostate cancer survivor himself, he is using his platform to advocate for regular screening and open conversations around men’s health.

“Too many men are dying in silence. They don’t talk about their pain until it’s too late,” he explained.

“We need to build a culture where men prioritize their health.”

The foundation’s flagship initiative focuses on prostate health, mental well-being, and diabetes awareness.

The activist emphasized the need for early detection, voluntary testing, and support networks.

“I want men to speak up and get checked. In trying to protect and provide, we often neglect ourselves.”
