Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah’s Milk of Kindness

Published

on

No doubt, Ifeanyi Ubah, Chairman, Capital Oil, is generous to a fault.  This top player in the nation’s oil and gas sector also has a large heart. Besides, he is unapologetically committed to the uplift of his community, while also helping the course of humanity. It is well known that the billionaire has the milk of kindness running in his veins.

As proof of his fellow-feeling, the senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District today  commenced distribution of palliatives to families across the 21 local government areas in Anambra state.

 As gathered the businessman gave out  palliatives such as 26,000 bags of 5kg rice, 11,200 bags of 5kg garri, 9,400 cartons of tummy tummy noodles, 6,000 bottles of cooking oil, 32,000 bottles of hand sanitizers, 65,000 disposable face masks, 8,000 washable face masks, 2,000 bags of 25kg garri, 500 bags of 25kg rice, 42 thermometers and 62 tricycles.

While addressing the people, Ubah said:

‘’To the glory of God, as part of measures to alleviate the hardship and cushion the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging my people, I have commenced the distribution of palliatives to the good people of Anambra across the 21 Local Government Areas in our state.

I am aware that this is a deeply unsettling and difficult time for my people as the disruption of their daily sources of livelihood and economic activities have incurred a huge and devastating impact on their ability to meet their most basic needs. This necessitates the need to combine public health efforts with palliative measures so as to prevent hunger/food insecurity from creating further health and social challenges in our state.

While apologizing for my unavoidable absence, I wish to assure Anambrarians that I have provided capable hands and structures that will ensure equitable distribution of these palliatives across the nooks and crannies of Anambra.

I want to use this medium to thank the *Executive Governor of Anambra State; His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano* for his commitment to tackling this enormous challenge with courage, resolve and exemplary determination.

I also wish to acknowledge the *Anambra Progressives* with profound gratitude, for selflessly volunteering their time and resources to our noble initiative that will provide a long lasting solution to the COVID-19 scourge and the post pandemic era; by the grace of God, our projects will be unveiled subsequently. Come what may, I will keep doing my best to touch lives positively irrespective of the precarious economic situation in the country.

Conclusively, I wish to urge the good people of Anambra to always remember to:

– Practice social distancing;

– Wash your hands regularly or use alcohol-based hand sanitizers;

– Avoid touching your face;

– Self-isolate if you have been in contact with a confirmed case

– Call the NCDC hotlines for Anambra State (08030953771, 08117567363 and 08145434416) if you notice symptoms;

– Above all, let us Keep praying for our state as well as remain disciplined in obeying the Authorities and keep trusting in God. In the end, we shall overcome!

TheGazelleNews, a leading online newspaper, is set to honour elder statesman and one of Nigeria’s most respected politicians, Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi, Chairman of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at its Annual Public Lecture and Award Night.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Isaac John Street, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.

This year’s lecture, themed “Poverty Alleviation: Fantasies, Expectations, and Realities of People’s Empowerment,” aims to foster insightful discussion on critical socio-economic issues facing the country.

In recognition of his lifetime of exemplary service, leadership, and dedication to Lagos State and Nigeria, Prince Olusi will be celebrated as one of the nation’s most revered statesmen.

A royal prince from the Akinsemoyin and Ado Royal Families of Lagos, Prince Olusi has been a steadfast figure in Nigeria’s political landscape for decades. His public service journey began as a councillor at the Lagos City Council, and he later represented Lagos Island in the House of Representatives during Nigeria’s Second Republic.

Prince Olusi also served as a Commissioner under the administration of Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, demonstrating commitment, integrity, and wisdom throughout his career.

Today, as Chairman of the influential GAC, Prince Olusi stands as one of the most respected and influential political figures not only in Lagos but also in the entire landscape of Nigeria, guiding policy and advising leaders with a steady hand. His contributions have helped shape Lagos’s political landscape, and his principled leadership has earned him admiration across all spheres of government.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is a distinction previously awarded to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who was the inaugural recipient of the award.

This prestigious honour reflects the values and legacy that Prince Olusi exemplifies: enduring dedication to public service, unwavering commitment to community welfare, and an inspiring vision for a better Nigeria.

In anticipation of the award, the organizers of TheGazelleNews public lecture have expressed their pride in recognizing Prince Olusi’s contributions, describing him as “a man whose life and career symbolize leadership, excellence, and commitment to the people.”

This award is a tribute not only to his achievements but to his enduring influence on the nation’s political scene.
