The launch marks another significant chapter in Polotee’s decades-long career in broadcasting, community development and humanitarian advocacy, areas in which he has built a reputation for using media and storytelling to encourage social transformation.

The new platform, Sean Polotee MÁÁGBỌ̀N FM, is being positioned as more than an online radio station. Its programming is expected to focus on youth development, talent discovery, entrepreneurship, innovation and social responsibility, while addressing challenges such as drug abuse and other social vices.

The name “MÁÁGBỌ̀N”, a Yoruba expression meaning “Don’t Shake”, captures the central philosophy of the brand.

The phrase is intended as a message of resilience, courage, hope and determination, encouraging people to remain steadfast despite personal difficulties and wider socio-economic pressures.

Polotee said the station would begin as an online radio platform, with a long-term ambition of becoming a fully licensed urban radio station after securing approval from the National Broadcasting Commission.

The veteran broadcaster said the platform would seek to help young Nigerians recognise and develop their talents, embrace entrepreneurship and innovation, and build the confidence needed to become self-reliant contributors to society.

The vision extends beyond conventional broadcasting. MÁÁGBỌ̀N FM is also designed as an extension of Polotee’s wider MÁÁGBỌ̀N advocacy movement, which promotes a simple but powerful message: “Don’t Shake.”

The campaign encourages people from different backgrounds to believe in their abilities and pursue their ambitions through discipline, determination and hard work.

Through the radio platform, Polotee also plans to identify exceptional talents across different sectors and create opportunities for them to develop and gain wider exposure.

The initiative is expected to create an ecosystem where government agencies, private organisations, investors and development partners can support emerging talents and ideas with the potential to contribute to Nigeria’s development.

That ambition reflects Polotee’s longstanding interest in using communication as a catalyst for social impact.

His work across broadcasting, advocacy and humanitarian initiatives has placed youth development and community engagement at the centre of his public profile.

The launch of MÁÁGBỌ̀N FM therefore represents a bold expansion of that work, bringing together broadcasting and advocacy under a single platform built around resilience and opportunity.

The September 18 unveiling is expected to attract personalities from government, the media, the corporate sector, traditional institutions, youth organisations and the creative industry.

For Polotee, the project’s central message remains deliberately straightforward.

“Don’t Shake. Believe in yourself. Discover your talent. Build your future. The future belongs to those who refuse to give up.”

As MÁÁGBỌ̀N FM prepares to begin its broadcasting journey, the platform is positioning itself around a hopeful proposition: that media can do more than inform and entertain.

It can also give people the confidence to discover their potential, pursue meaningful opportunities and play a more active role in shaping the future of their communities.

With its launch date approaching, the station’s success will ultimately depend on how effectively that ambitious vision translates into programming, talent development and sustained community impact.
