Dr Akintoye Akindele has earned multiple international awards for his leadership, innovation, and philanthropy across Africa and beyond

Dr Akintoye Akindele, Chairman of Platform Capital Group, has been honoured with multiple international awards in recognition of his transformative leadership, social impact, and dedication to empowering entrepreneurs across Africa.

In the past month alone, Dr Akindele’s influence and vision have been celebrated both at home and abroad, reaffirming his standing as one of Africa’s most purpose-driven business leaders.

In early September, he was recognised at the 3rd Edition of the Global Awards & Nordic Africa Business Forum held in Helsinki, Finland, where he received an award for his outstanding commitment to uplifting communities, supporting entrepreneurs, and driving transformative change across the continent.

Organisers of the event described the recognition as “a reaffirmation that vision, authenticity, and unwavering dedication will always prevail over temporary setbacks.”

The momentum continued into October, when Dr Akindele was appointed Board Advisor to the Asian-African Chamber of Commerce & Industry, underscoring his global relevance in promoting collaboration, innovation, and shared prosperity across emerging markets.

Later in the same month, he received the Brand Nigeria Leadership Award during a grand ceremony held at Eko Atlantic City, Lagos, in celebration of Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary.

The event also honoured other prominent figures, including Aliko Dangote, Hon. Ayodele Olawande, and Iyin Aboyeji.

The highlight of Akindele’s recent accolades came at the 2nd Annual Symposium of the Ajibosin Platform, a side event of the popular Owu Day Celebration held at the Obasanjo Library Complex, Abeokuta.

There, he was conferred with the Distinguished Leadership Award by His Royal Majesty, Oba Prof. Saka Matemilola, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to leadership, innovation, and social impact.

Describing the honour as a “pleasant and humbling surprise,” Akindele said it served as motivation to continue working towards a more equitable and prosperous Africa.

Over the years, Dr Akintoye Akindele has distinguished himself not only as a successful investor but also as a visionary changemaker. Known for his humility and quiet strength, he has consistently channelled his resources into philanthropy, education, and youth empowerment initiatives.
